Marina T. Larson

Marina T. Larson is technically trained in the chemical and biological sciences, having earned a bachelor's degree in biology from California State University at Long Beach in 1974 and a Ph.D. in physical chemistry from the University of Southern California in 1980. While working in an industrial environment doing research in fermentation biology, she attended Pace University School of Law from which she was graduated, cum laude, in 1986. Since 1985 Marina Larson has been practicing all aspects of intellectual property law including patent prosecution and litigation on a wide variety of technical subjects. This has included the writing of numerous patent applications for inventions relating to biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, and organic and inorganic chemistry and chemical engineering. Ryan E. Anderson

Ryan E. Anderson has been practicing Intellectual Property Law full time since 2003. Prior to this, Ryan gained experience relating to all aspects of intellectual property working for New Zealand's largest intellectual property law firm as an international patent agent, and as a summer associate in the United States. In addition to extensive legal research and writing, Ryan has assisted with the prosecution of patents in the United States, the South Pacific, Europe, and Southeast Asia.

Ryan earned a bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, cum laude, from the Honors College at Michigan State University in 1999. Before attending DePaul University College of Law, Ryan served as Research Assistant for NASA Johnson Space Center. His work included participation on projects conducted through the Boulder Center for Science and Policy studying production of fuels using indigenous Martian resources. Further, Ryan gained experience as an assistant brew master for the Mackinaw Brewing Company.

During law school, Ryan gained valuable experience by participating in DePaul's top-rated Trial Advocacy program as well as serving as an editor for the DePaul Sports Law Journal. Further, he served as a Federal judicial extern for the Honorable Amy J. St. Eve in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. Ryan was awarded a CALI Award in 2003. He also received an Intellectual Property Law Certificate from DePaul University College of Law, and participated as an intern for the Technology and Intellectual Property Clinic, (TIP Clinic ®).

Ryan is admitted to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office, the U.S. Court of Appeals Federal Circuit, and the State Court of Colorado.

William M Hanes

William joined Marina Larson & Associates, LLC as a Patent Agent in October, 2008, and is now an associate with the firm of Larson & Anderson, LLC.

William received a Bachelor's degree in Microbiology from Miami University in 2002. Before attending law school, William gained practical experience working as a researcher for the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences, for Rockefeller University, and for Mannkind BioPharmaceutical. In these positions, he researched experimental surgical techniques, combat casualty care, and the STAT signaling pathway, and aided in the development of an inhaled insulin product. During his undergraduate studies, William studied the structure of the prokaryotic ribosome and was a recipient of the Howard Hughes Undergraduate Research Award.

William obtained his J.D. with a concentration in Intellectual Property in 2008 from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in New York City. While there, he interned for a patent boutique in Munich, Germany and the Environmental Protection Agency. He also worked as a research assistant for Professor Lester Brickman.

William is admitted to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office and in the State of New Jersey.
